I don’t know about you, but I have never looked forward to Springtime more than this year.
I feel new life rising up inside me, mirroring what’s happening in nature, and I feel inspired, filled with renewed hope and possibility.
I feel filled with gratitude and awe at the wonder of nature and all she gives us …
From the first day of the spring equinox forward, winter and the dark time are finally behind us, and spring bursts forth! She arrives and with her, buds force their way up through the cold earth, birds and their sweet songs return, the warm sun shines down upon us, soothing our every cell and we turn our sights to celebrating life and nature.
All I can think of are words that start with “re” …
Renew, reawaken, rejuvenate, replenish, revive, restore, rebirth!
For the first time since the Fall Equinox, the time of light and dark in a single day are equal; “equinox” is Latin for “equal night.” The idea is that on the first day of spring there are exactly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness. And what comes to mind, is the concept of balance.
This is not only a time for rebirth and revisiting what you aspire to manifest, but how you wish to do it … and the way you approach a new project has everything to do with being in balance– all faculties working together in perfect harmony, all energy systems rallying and moving towards the goal.
When your Mind, body and spirit are working as an integrated whole, anything is possible …
Spring is the perfect time to look at how we greet life–our relationship to ourselves and the world around us, for it is a time of emerging, of the shedding of outer layers, an opportunity instead, to dive inside to the inner layers and what exists “under the earth of our consciousness,” so to speak– what has been hibernating, germinating all winter, and what MUST break through the soil of our inner objections to see the sun once again, or perhaps for the very first time.
And one of my favorite quotes from Anais Nin comes to mind– very fitting for this entry:
There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
Now is the time to emerge, to blossom, to move into the space of becoming … to manifest what has been hiding out, somewhere in the shadows … bring your dreams into the light and let the sun shine down upon them so that they can rise up and become your reality.
And now, join me! I’m off to do some Waking Energy to light my inner spark and start the creative fires burning once again!
One of my very favorite Waking Energy exercises, called “Opening the Energy Gates,” is the one I am going to start with:
Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart and arms hanging down by the sides of the body.
Slightly tuck your pelvis as you lift the crown of the head even higher up, to receive “Heaven” energy and root your feet even more firmly into the floor to receive “Earth” energy and draw it up through your feet into your leg channels.
As you inhale deeply, lift the arms up to shoulder height and imagine that you are being lifted up by huge currents of warm air under your wings and as you exhale, allow the arms to drift back down to their starting position, letting go of what no longer serves you– an energetic “Spring cleaning,” if you will …
Repeat this cycle 9 times, and as you inhale and lift the arms, think of what you wish to bring into your life, as you literally open the energy gates of your body, your mind and your spirit– ushering in your heart’s desire.
And continue to create “inner space” by thinking of what you can let go of — what you can say goodbye to in your life that is not enhancing your existence.
After completing the 9 cycles, bring your palms together to rest on your dan-tien– your “sea of chi” — two inches above your navel center and meditate on all of the beautiful new energy– life force you have summoned and brought as a gift into your being.
The rest of this wonderful series is available in the DVD series I have featured here below for your reference.
Enjoy!

Painting Story:
The coming of spring and the awakening of dawn herald the season of new beginnings. In ancient Egyptian mythology the great mother goddess, in her embodied form as a lotus in a pond, gives birth to Ra the sun god. He has completed his underworld journey and emerges to bathe the earth in the healing colors of sunrise, pink and gold.
Jennifer, love your site and comments regarding wholeness (body, mind and spirit). I might add that when we become whole, we understand the truth within our being. When we understand the truth within our being, we recognize ourselves within the truth.
I wish you good health and wellness.
